| An area rich in history,
Nevada County saw it's first real population boom during the
Gold Rush, one-hundred fifty years ago. This community, nestled
in the foothills above Sacramento, has now become an employment
center of another sort as many research and development divisions
of world leading technology companies have found a home here.
The community is rich in cultural endeavors
such as Theatre, artisan products, livestock shows, farmers
market, story telling & music festivals. Surrounded by state
parks such as Empire Mine, and Tahoe National Forest, there
is no shortage of activities to participate in.
Nevada City, the county seat, proudly boasts
the original gas lights along Broad Street and is home to many
fine restaurants, quaint shops and entertainment venues, as
well as romantic carriage rides and unique lodging.
Grass Valley has a slightly different flavor,
having recently undergone a face lift. The center of activities
is Mill Street, home to the Del Oro Theatre, the Hollbrooke
Hotel and a host of shops that range from western wear to gold
panning supplies. Grass Valley has many fine restaurants and
entertainment venues of it's own. |
